About Malachy Coleman
I am a bi-lingual psychotherapist living and working in Nantes, France. Born in Ireland in 1961, I have lived in France for nearly twenty years now. I am married to a French woman who is also a psychotherapist, and we have two children.
I work with adults, adolescents and children doing individual one-to-one session work. I also work with couples, run psychogenealogy workshops and conduct closed therapy groups for adults who need group support.
Approach
The therapeutic support I provide is global in nature. That means that while I work with people verbally and emotionally in relation to their difficulty, I also help people connect to the sensorial experience in their bodies. Why? Because when a person experiences a shock, access to this layer of information becomes diminished or frozen. The quality of this inner sensorial connection becomes a key which allows the person's psychological and emotional understanding to transform into meaningful life change.
Training
I began my psychotherapist training in 1994 and have trained in several therapeutic modalities - Biodynamics, Biosynthesis, System Therapy (Psychogenealogy), Neuro-Linguistic Programming - all of which encompass, in different ways, the importance of the sensorial experience to psychotherapy work.
I am currently training in a new form of work called biological decoding with a solution-orientated focus which takes into account the biological processes underlying disease with a view to helping people who are suffering from physical illness.
